Adoption of pandemic treaty is historic: Compliance and accountability must now follow

The Pandemic Treaty adopted at the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA78) is a landmark achievement in global health. Adoption is just a first step. As negotiators continue to work on Pathogen Access and Benefits Sharing, preparing, preventing, and responding to the next pandemic will require accountability by Member States towards their commitments. Experience shows voluntary reporting often fails; monitoring implementation will enable progress and accountability to be tracked transparently.
